The Fall of Blackberry

If you haven’t heard, RIM, the makers of Blackberry are getting set to lay off 5000 employees and have to postpone the launch of their new operating system until next year.  After the announcement was made, iPhone celebrated its 5th birthday the following day.  Oh the irony…

LEGO and Google: Build With Chrome [VIDEO]

With the latest web technology in Chrome, you can now view 3D graphics right in the browser. To show you how much fun this can be, Google has partnered with LEGO to create the world’s biggest LEGO® set: Build With Chrome. For now the program is limited to Australia and New Zealand maps, but plans to expand worldwide are in the works.

Turn Any Wall Into A Touchscreen [VIDEO]

For The Creators Project: San Francisco 2012, we paired up Doug Carmean from Intel Labs with a team from Social Print Studio in order to create a social touch display.

The result was #Creators Live, an interactive installation that lets patrons scroll through and zoom in on real-time Instagram photos tagged #creators. We liked the social experiment so much, we’re bringing it to all our 2012 events.The Creators Project

MUJI to Launch First Worldwide Campaign with “MUJI to GO”

Always a brand looking for further customer engagement, MUJI presents their worldwide travel initiative “MUJI to GO” which focuses on desired pieces for individuals who make jet-setting both a hobby as well as a lifestyle. Utilizing staff tips from various team members and valued individuals around the world, up to 50 items will be selected as part of their “From Japan to the World” layout strategy. The “MUJI to GO” campaign will take place at stores in Japan, UK, France, Italy, Germany, Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Spain, Turkey, Poland, Portugal, United States, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines.

NBA Player Amar’e Stoudemire in Hot Seat for Anti-Gay Slur on Twitter

Another case of a professional athlete/celebrity making a public offense on social media.  This time it was Amar’e Stoudemire and it was in response to a fan who called out Stoudemire basically wanting him to come back and play better next season.  This obvious New York Knicks fan is also a Stoudemire fan.  With this not being the first time we’ve seen this do you guys think it should be overlooked as part of their personal freedom of speech or should sports leagues, labels etc be put in charge of monitoring these types of accounts?
