THE PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE of THE REEBOK QUESTION + IVERSON’S GLOBAL INFLUENCE

This was a good read on the signature shoe of former NBA superstar Allen Iverson and what makes he and his first shoe so iconic. The shoe released today and sold out at very select Reebok retailers. This article is a Q&A with Reebok Vice President Todd Krinsky and he explains how people traveled to find the shoe when it first released and how it sold evenly in urban inner-city markets and suburbia alike.  He also implies how Iverson’s attitude of being himself as well as his heart on the court transcended several demographics to inspire a generation.  It’s also implied that this led many of today’s younger players to wear the tattoos, headbands and cornrows you see now.  Krinsky also explains how moving forward Iverson is very much involved in the business and he understands how he works in several markets locally and internationally.  Enough of us writing just read the article here.

 

THE HUNDREDS EUROCUP 2012 COLLECTION [VIDEO]

With the EuroCup coming up soon, a huge event for football…no not the NFL, soccer ya’ll…The Hundreds gets in on the action by releasing a t-shirt collection.  Several of the teams in the EuroCup are represented.  This video look book is very cool as are the actual t-shirts.  Check it out.

Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama Collection & iPhone App – A First Look

Today we come across the very first official images of the upcoming collaboration by Louis Vuitton and Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. The two have already worked on exhibitions together in London and an upcoming one in New York and in order to bring things full circle, have of course also worked on collaborative products.

After a first encounter by Louis Vuitton creative director Marc Jacobs and the artist in 2006, the collaboration will finally make its way into LV stores this summer. 2 days ahead of the Whitney Museum New York exhibition opening, on July 10th, “Vuitton will unveil a line of clothes and accessories done in collaboration with the artist. Ranging from trenchcoats and silk pajamas to a pendant necklace and wristwatch, the collection is due in Vuitton’s 461 stores in the days that follow the opening, with a second wave of products — hinged on monogram leather goods festooned with Kusama’s tentaclelike “nerves” motif — due out in October.”

Furthermore Louis Vuitton will launch an iPhone App next month that will allow users to take pictures and customize them with Kusama motifs such as her dots. The app will be available in both English and Japanese and will not be linked to any product.

A BATHING APE SHANGAI & BEIJING
